Thanks for stopping by, I am thrilled to share my journey with you!
Born and raised in Italy, I have lived and worked in the UK, France, Australia, and Canada. Driven by my curiosity and love for adventure, over the past two decades, I have explored over 50 countries, learning invaluable lessons about different cultures and ways of life. My adventures have been nothing short of wild and memorable, from cycling through South America to bivouacking in Antarctica, and surveying habitats in the Mexican jungle to getting bitten by a macaque in India. As I journeyed to different parts of the world, I discovered my deep passion for capturing moments and memories through photography. During these travels, my camera, Elphaba, became more than just a tool. It became a trusted companion and an extension of my creative vision. With Elphaba by my side, I was able to capture the beauty of diverse cultures, stunning wildlife, breathtaking landscapes, and candid moments of joy and connection between people. This experience solidified my love for photography and inspired me to continue exploring the world through my lens.
As I immersed myself in new places and cultures, I found that photographing wildlife suited me particularly. I learned to endure long hours, uncomfortable positions, and challenging weather conditions, waiting for the perfect shot. Capturing a wild animal in its natural habitat requires a deep understanding of animal behaviour, advanced knowledge of camera equipment and techniques, and the ability to adapt quickly to changing lighting conditions and unexpected movements. But the end result is worth it, as my photographs not only capture the beauty of these animals but also help promote conservation and raise awareness of their importance in the different ecosystems. After travelling and documenting wildlife for several years, I felt compelled to return to university in the UK and pursue my passion for wildlife conservation. I earned both a BSc and an MSc in Zoology and Wildlife Conservation and I dedicated my final research project to developing a censusing technique for seabirds using drone technology. The research carried out at UWE Bristol with Dr Vafidis was featured in an episode of BBC Countryfile.
After years of honing my craft by capturing the beauty of nature and wildlife, during the pandemic I found myself drawn to a new subject: humans. I discovered a deep love for people and the unique stories and experiences that make us who we are. This newfound perspective has allowed me to explore new avenues in my photography and I have had the opportunity to meet incredible people since. Being able to preserve special moments and emotions for families, couples, friends, and individuals is a truly fulfilling experience. I feel privileged to be able to document the joy and love that people share with each other and I take great joy in building relationships with my clients, hearing their stories, and finding creative ways to represent their unique personalities and experiences through my lens.
I have a particular affinity for warm tones and textures, and I prefer to work with natural light whenever possible. I find that this approach creates a more organic and authentic feel to my photos.
